Why retention beats volume in face-to-face fundraising
What a regular-giving supporter is really worth, and why charities should judge face-to-face agencies on how long supporters stay, not how many sign up.

For a charity, the moment a supporter says yes is the beginning of a relationship. For a face-to-face agency, it should be the start of a handover done carefully. Here's what that journey looks like at Verifly.
Before any details are taken, the fundraiser runs a quality check: the supporter has seen their badge, chosen a comfortable amount, understands it's monthly, completes and signs their own details, and has been asked whether they're happy to support long term.
Team leaders review every sign-up before it's submitted. After-hours sign-ups are only accepted as genuine, resident-requested callbacks that were approved in advance and logged. Anything that can't be validated isn't submitted.
A welcome and verification call thanks the supporter, checks their details and answers questions. Industry experience shows verified supporters are more likely to keep giving, and early cancellations drop when problems such as card issues are caught early.
The charity's own welcome emails, texts and updates show the supporter the difference they're making. This is where the relationship really becomes the charity's.
Fundraiser bonuses are only released once sign-ups pass review. And if anything goes wrong, every complaint is investigated, the fundraiser identified and a written response returned to the charity, with lessons fed straight back into coaching.
Every step is designed so the supporters we hand over are supporters who stay.
